
Sharjah Government Honors Saudi Ministry of Environment
For Its Efforts in the Success of the Wheat Cultivation Project Using the Saudi “Yokohama Rojo” Variety
The Government of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, honored the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture for its active contribution and fruitful cooperation in the success of the third organic wheat cultivation season in Mleiha, Sharjah – Wheat Cultivation Project Using the Saudi “Yokohama Rojo” Variety. This initiative is part of a project to distribute authentic wheat seeds to farmers to enhance self-sufficiency and achieve food security.
His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, honored the ministry in recognition and appreciation of its contribution to the project’s success. Saudi Arabia participated with one of its most important cultivated wheat varieties, which is considered among the finest red wheat types. This variety is distinguished by its high purity, short germination period, and resistance to fungal diseases. It is cultivated using a central pivot irrigation system.
