Egypt’s Agricultural Exports Surpass 2.7 Million Tons in Q1 of 2025

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, announced that Egypt’s agricultural exports exceeded 2.7 million tons during the first quarter of this year, from January 1 to the end of March 2025.

This came in a report received by the Minister from Dr. Mohamed El-Mansy, Head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine Authority, who noted that the most prominent agricultural exports included: citrus fruits, fresh potatoes, fresh onions, sweet potatoes, pomegranates, fresh garlic, fresh strawberries, beans (fresh and dried), guavas, and fresh tomatoes.

According to the report, total citrus exports amounted to 1,328,902 tons. Fresh potatoes followed in second place with 492,763 tons. Beans (fresh and dried) came third with 96,313 tons. Sweet potatoes ranked fourth with 77,458 tons, strawberries came fifth with 29,162 tons, and fresh tomatoes ranked sixth with 28,195 tons.

Onions ranked seventh in the export list with a total of 26,410 tons, followed by garlic in eighth place with 9,745 tons. Guavas came ninth with 7,835 tons, while pomegranates ranked last with 2,372 tons.
