
Signature of the executive program for cooperation between Jordan & Uzbekistan
At the conclusion of the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to the Kingdom, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Eng. Mohammad Issa Al-Hayari, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Jamshid Abdukhurov, signed the executive program for cooperation between the two countries’ Ministries of Agriculture, with the aim of strengthening the implementation of agreements reached following the high-level visit of the Uzbek delegation.
The program includes seven main areas of cooperation in various agricultural fields, including: cooperation in localizing tomato, wheat, and barley varieties tolerant to salinity and drought in Uzbekistan through the National Agricultural Research Center; launching a research program on crossbreeding between Awassi sheep and Uzbek sheep breeds; as well as improving the volume of trade in agricultural and food products between the two countries through the Ministry of Agriculture and the private sector.
The program also stipulates establishing cooperation between the Agriculture, Knowledge, and Innovation Center in Uzbekistan and the National Agricultural Research Center; organizing an Uzbek agricultural and food products exhibition in Amman; forming a joint working group to implement the agreed areas of cooperation; and coordinating specialized training programs targeting agricultural staff and farmers to promote the concept of field schools, while enhancing knowledge exchange and practical expertise to contribute to improving agricultural practices and achieving tangible results.
