Capital Mills Grains Project: A New Industrial Pillar Supporting the UAE’s Food Security and Sustainable Growth
In a move marking the launch of an advanced phase of strategic industrial development, Al Ain Mills Holding Company—owned by Ethmar International Holding and Emirates Y Holding—has laid the foundation stone for the Capital Mills Grains Project at Khalifa Port. This milestone reflects alignment with Abu Dhabi’s long-term vision for food security, sustainability, and economic resilience.
The Capital Mills Grains Project represents a significant step forward in industrial growth, built on decades of accumulated expertise, long-term investment, and national priorities. The project aims to enhance local grain storage and processing capabilities, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support the UAE’s food security objectives through modern, scalable infrastructure.
The project is being developed with the support of AD Ports Group, as part of its strategic role in enabling vital industries within Abu Dhabi’s integrated trade, logistics, and industrial ecosystem. Its location at Khalifa Port provides direct access to deep-water berths, advanced infrastructure, and seamless connectivity to global trade routes, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional hub for commodities.
The project is underpinned by more than 80 years of experience and leadership of the Al-Hazaa Family in the milling and agri-food sector, bringing deep operational expertise, strong supply networks, and well-established industrial capabilities. Through Al-Hazaa Investment Group, the family operates 15 production facilities across Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, the UAE, and Cyprus, forming a solid foundation for the project’s long-term success.
Ethmar International Holding (EIH) contributes strategic value through its expertise in investment, governance, and business development, supporting disciplined growth, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability. Ethmar’s role strengthens the project’s financial and strategic foundations and aligns it with Abu Dhabi’s future economic agenda.
The Capital Mills Grains Project is closely aligned with the UAE National Food Security Strategy and Abu Dhabi’s food sustainability objectives, contributing to enhanced local value creation, industrial diversification, and long-term supply security. It also reflects the strength of combining generational industrial expertise, advanced institutional investment, and world-class infrastructure.
By uniting the legacy and expertise of the Al-Hazaa Family, the investment and commercial capabilities of Ethmar International Holding, and the enabling ecosystem provided by AD Ports Group, the Capital Mills Grains Project is positioned to play a pivotal role in strengthening essential food supply chains and supporting sustainable economic growth in the United Arab Emirates.
