Morocco Strengthens Its Leadership in Advancing Sustainable Agricultural Development in Africa

The Kingdom of Morocco continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to building a more resilient, sustainable, and inclusive African agricultural and food system, aligned with continental development goals and food security priorities.

The results of the Fifth Biennial Review of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) highlighted Morocco’s significant progress and reinforced its position among the African countries most committed to implementing continental agricultural priorities.

During the National Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on the new strategic framework of the Kampala Declaration 2026–2035, participants explored ways to strengthen governance, enhance strategic planning, and improve the performance of agricultural and food systems to achieve sustainable development outcomes.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, in partnership with the Arab Maghreb Union and the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development (COMADER), forms part of broader continental efforts to strengthen food sovereignty and promote sustainable development across Africa.
