Saudi Coffee: A National Cultural Heritage Enriching Quality & Strengthening Local Presence
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture confirmed that Saudi coffee is one of the Kingdom’s most prominent national agricultural crops, carrying deep cultural and social heritage. During the holy month of Ramadan, it takes a special place at dining tables through its diverse preparation methods.
Thanks to the fertile soil and favorable climate of the southwestern and southern highlands, Saudi coffee is cultivated in exceptional conditions that grant it premium quality and a distinctive flavor.
Under its campaign “Khair Ardna”, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture highlighted that the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al Baha, Makkah, and Najran host more than 1.3 million productive coffee trees, producing over 870 tons of pure coffee annually.
🔹 Jazan leads with more than 966,000 productive trees, generating over 642 tons annually.
🔹 Asir follows with more than 243,000 trees, producing over 175 tons.
🔹 Al Baha records around 72,000 trees.
🔹 Makkah exceeds 12,000 productive trees, producing over 10 tons.
🔹 Najran includes more than 9,000 trees, yielding over 7 tons annually.
The Ministry encourages consumers to choose local coffee products, emphasizing their rich nutritional value and the vital role they play in supporting farmers and strengthening food security — in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
