The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved record growth in the value of date exports in 2025, registering a 14.3% increase compared to 2024 and a 59.5% rise since 2021. Export value reached SAR 1.938 billion, highlighting the significant development of the palm and date sector in the Kingdom, as well as the improved quality and production efficiency of Saudi dates. This growth reinforces Saudi Arabia’s leadership and dominance in global date markets, contributing to increased agricultural sector participation in GDP and supporting the national economy, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and Chairman of the Board of the National Center for Palms and Dates, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, stated that this achievement is the result of unlimited support from the Kingdom’s leadership, along with strong coordination and integration between government entities and the private sector. These efforts aim to develop supply chains, enhance export efficiency, and expand the global presence of Saudi dates. He noted that the initiative “Empowering Saudi Date Exports and Expanding Their Access to Global Markets” has been a key pillar in achieving this milestone, increasing exports to many countries compared to 2024.
Al-Fadley also emphasized that Saudi Arabia is one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of dates, exporting to more than 125 countries worldwide. Saudi dates are distinguished by their high competitive quality and unique variety, making them highly sought after and capable of meeting diverse consumer preferences across global markets.
The palm and date sector has witnessed significant qualitative transformations and tangible achievements, including increased production volumes, diversified varieties, and expanded processing industries. In 2025, Saudi Arabia’s date production exceeded 1.9 million tons, with more than 37 million palm trees across the Kingdom. This reflects the sector’s diversity and its ability to meet global market demands, further strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading global producer and exporter of dates.
